The 1965 Mustang arrived on the scene and started the pony war stampede and war amongst Detroit’s auto makers. Although the Mustang’s dominance was challenged, no other auto manufacturer came close the matching the Mustang’s annual sales figures. The first generation Mustang cemented the Mustang with names such as Sprint, GT, Mach 1, Boss and a host of other iconic names.
