When Mick Fleetwood hired Lindsey Buckingham to be their lead guitarist, it came with a condition: that Stevie Nicks would also join.  Nicks would join Fleetwood Mac bassist John McVie’s wife, Christine McVie as the only other female member of the band.   Christine McVie joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970.

Little could anyone imagine at that time that both Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie would write the majority of Fleetwood Mac’s top songs and would leave an indelible mark not only on the band, but in music history.
