The Chevrolet Corvette was introduced as a 1953 model year, later coined the C1 or first generation. Since its introduction in 1953, the Corvette has undergone all kinds of transitions such as dropping its original “Blue Flame” motor to 283s, 327s, 350s and big block bruisers. The Corvette added iconic models through the years up to today’s C8 or eighth generation 2020 mid-engine killer.
With each generation Corvette, the logos were slightly altered along the decades – here’s pictorial history of each logo.
^ Corvette C1: 1953
The very first production Corvette incorporated the Crossed Flags logo, featuring a checkered flag matched with a flag depicting the Chevrolet “bowtie” symbol and the French fleur-de-lis (flower of the lily) – an homage to company co-founder Louis Chevrolet’s heritage.
^ Corvette C2: 1962
The Crossed Flags emblem on the nose of the 1962 Corvette featured a circular frame, while other logos incorporated a “V” beneath the flags – a symbol added in 1956 to signify the car’s V-8 engine.
^ Corvette C3: 1968-1982
The Corvette’s C3 generation (1968-82) features a Crossed Flags design without a circle motif behind it and a wider stance for the flag poles.
^ Corvette C4: 1984-1996
The logo for the C4 Corvette loses the conventional Crossed Flags design, but still incorporates the checkered flag and bowtie motifs. For the first time, the checkered flag portion is on the left and bowtie flag is on the right.
^ Corvette C5: 1997-2004
A more traditional Crossed Flags design returns with the introduction of the C5 Corvette (1997-2004), bringing back the flag poles and the fleur-de-lis on the bowtie flag.
^ Corvette 50th Anniversary

^ Corvette C6: 2005-2013
With the launch of the C6 Corvette (2005-2013), the Crossed Flags logo takes on a sharper design without the traditional flag poles or circular element behind the flags.
^ Corvette C7: 2014-2019
For the seventh-generation Corvette, the Crossed Flags design has a more angular and swept appearance – a proportion that echoes the new car and suggests speed. It is also a more detailed representation, showing greater depth, color and attention to detail.
