False.  German camouflage was in development during the Reichswehr (German army from 1919-1935) and both the Werhmacht's army (Heer) and the Waffen SS used it. The Waffen SS, however made more extensive use of it.

Introduced in 1940, the iconic German MP 40 was widely used by the Wehrmacht.  It however, had nothing to do with Schmeisser himself.

The Waffen SS tunic's eagle was moved from the breast area to the sleeve.  Even though they were part of the Wehrmacht, some early Feldgendarmerie (military police) tunics also wore them on the side sleeve.
